Board of Directors
The members of the BCPUD’s Board of Directors are elected by registered voters in the district to serve staggered four-year terms. Elections are conducted by the County of Marin and candidates for the Board stand for election in November of even-numbered years. Persons interested in running for the Board of Directors can find more information about election procedures and applicable deadlines on the County’s of Marin’s Elections/Registrar of Voters website.
Regular meetings of the Board of Directors are usually held on the 3rd Wednesday of the month, at the District office, 270 Elm Road, Bolinas, and are open to the public. All board meetings begin a 7:30 p.m.
Bolinas Community Public Utility District board (and employee) compensation information can be found on the California Government Compensation Website. As noted below, the monthly fee received by each board member is $250. Other than reimbursement for any qualifying expenses they may incur in connection with their service on the Board, the monthly fee is the only remuneration BCPUD Board members receive from the District for their service.

Jack grew up in Los Angeles, received a BA in political science from UCLA and a JD from Hastings College of Law in S.F. He and his wife Mary, who is an artist, have three children, and he has two children from a prior marriage. After practicing law in SF for 7 years, he moved to Bolinas in 1977 where his practice continues. He served on the local school board from 1981 to 1993, and has served on the BCPUD Board from 1993 to the present time. |

Grace grew up in Mill Valley, studied English History at Mills College (BA) and Counseling Psychology at Dominican University (MS). She is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She and her two children moved to Bolinas in 1992 from the houseboat community of Galilee Harbor in Sausalito. She has worked at Bolinas School for over 20 years and has a private practice in San Francisco. Grace has served on the boards of a housing cooperative, several pre-schools, and her local union chapter. She is particularly interested in maintaining local affordable housing, environmental protection, and expanding access to services for rural communities. |

Having grown up in Vermont, Kirsten Walker is trained as an Architect and is the founding Principal of Walker Construction Management. With a BFA from U of M, Ann Arbor and a Masters in Architecture from UC Berkeley that focused on the historical redevelopment of post-industrial sites, Kirsten has been working in the field of Design and Construction Development for nearly four decades. A long term Bolinas Resident, Kirsten serves as a Director of the Bolinas Rod & Boat Club and has served +14yrs as a Bolinas Museum Board Member with 2 terms over 5yrs as President. Active with environmental and non-profit organizations, she previously served on the San Francisco Councils of both Natural Resource Defense Council and World Wildlife Fund. Kirsten is a mother, problem solver, and community advocate. |

Andrew grew up in rural Wisconsin. He graduated from Ball State University with a Bachelor of Architecture and an Environmental Design degree, where he co-led numerous urban design workshops with community based projects. He is a licensed architect and has worked at design firms in Chicago and the Bay Area since 2006. Currently, he leads his own architecture practice specializing in residential design based in Bolinas. Andrew served on the Bolinas Community Land Trust (BCLT) Board for 3.5 years. He enjoys diverse community involvement to design things that work well, are beautiful, and inspire new ideas of their own. |

Kevin grew up in a fishing town on the Central California coast and studied art and mechanical engineering. He has worked as a brewer and winemaker, small structure builder, furniture designer, and welding and woodworking instructor. Kevin previously served as a director of the local parks board. As a BCPUD Director Kevin works to: maintain the unique character of Bolinas; upgrade existing BCPUD infrastructure; educate our customers and visitors to avoid accidentally wasting our water; bring together the unique talents of our town to create new conservation efforts; advocate Marin County for more resources for our unincorporated town; and encourage affordable housing projects within the constraints of our water moratorium. |
