Bolinas-Stinson Resource Recovery Project

In 1997, the BCPUD, Stinson Beach Fire Department, the Bolinas Fire Department, and the Stinson Beach County Water District provided seed money to help establish an alternative means for disposing of organic green waste materials. The primary focus of the Resource Recovery Project is to mitigate fire danger and enhance wild fire safety by removing excessive vegetation from the Bolinas and Stinson Beach communities.

The site is located on Olema-Bolinas Road on your way into town, the project has the support of several other local public agencies.  The District also allocated three acres of land for the project and has contributed administrative and technical support services.  The site is open to the public and can receive greenwaste from the Bolinas and Stinson Beach areas for a small fee (see below for hours and rates).

Please note – absolutely NO food or garbage can be included in any greenwaste dropped off at the site.
